What I can do for you
I help people lead happier and more fulfilled lives. I help with issues such as loss and grief, separation, identity and self esteem, parenting, personal and family relationships, life stage transitions, depression and anxiety, trauma and abuse, and work-related problems and stress.
My work covers the full dimension of human experience: physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. I help people live in the “here and now”. I teach people how to integrate and digest limiting patterns from the past. These patterns may be conscious or unconscious.
I tailor my approach to meet the particular needs, goals, and wellbeing of each person. I help people to become more aware of their “true nature”, including their creativity, strength and openness. I have special skills and understanding in bodywork, the enneagram and interactive drawing therapy. I use these skills when and where appropriate. I will always discuss any of these approaches with you before using them.
My experience
I have been in private practice for over twenty years, working with individuals, couples, and families in either short or long term work. Prior to this, I worked for the Wellington Child and Family Clinic, and the Lower Hutt Family Centre. I also work as a supervisor/mentor to people in business and in the helping professions.
My training includes social work, transactional analysis, psychotherapy and family therapy. I am a member of the New Zealand Association of Psychotherapists and the New Zealand Association of Counsellors. I am an accredited clinical supervisor and a registered counsellor with ACC.
Finally, I am committed to my own development, both personally and as a therapist. I have regular supervision and participate in regular training.
